For the past several years Kiwanis Club of Kingsport has provided a reading mentoring program for both Roosevelt Elementary and Kennedy Elementary schools.
- Each reading team consists of 3 members, and a different member helps each week for half an hour in the assigned class, meaning each team member helps only every third week.
- If the team member is unable to help at his/her assigned time, he/she is expected to either swap reading dates with a team member or arrange for one of our substitutes to fill in.
- We typically begin our reading program at each school on the Monday after Labor Day and end sometime in March.
- Students look forward not only to our help with reading but also to the personal attention we show them!
